Wow, doing this project has made the month go by even faster!  So this week was pretty uneventful.  At least by kid standards.  We did have a fun weekend and took in the parade.

So my sister locked herself out of her car. I showed up to rescue her. LOL! You know you live in the Keys when you are completely unfazed by the chickens in the parking lot.

Ashley decided to fix their hair. Both boys love faux-hawks. It’s just plain silly. Daddy got a faux-hawk too, but declined to be photographed (not that I blame him!)

We went to the 100th anniversary of Flagler’s railroad parade. It was very fun to see all of the people dressed up in clothing from that era. Plus I went to Mathesson’s and got ice cream. Huge hit for everyone!

The kids started Yoga this week. Well, two of the four anyhow. They really enjoyed it, and are looking forward to classes in the future. Here, I believe Riley is doing “dolphin” pose.

I went to Bahia Honda to attempt some landscape photography. It was not the most successful trip. This is one of the two images that I took. LOL

Homework!

I can’t believe that this week is over already. The time is really going quickly this year! I hope that you are enjoying a continued peek into my daily life. icon smile Project 366 Keys Life Week 4

Row Away With Me

by Laura on January 23, 2012

in Portrait Session

Beautiful Key West sunset, perfect weather, and a family with loads of smiles. A photographer’s dream!  I have wanted to use a small boat for a family photo appointment for a long time.  And finally here is a beautiful family and a shining example of how much fun it can be when you work together to create a work of art from your family photos!

blog post Row Away With Me

So darn charming, is there a better way to say it? Love this little guy, he was such a good sport, even during the rowing portion of the adventure!

And his sister, just as charming.  Loved her natural comfort in front of the camera.

One of my favorite images, he looks like he could lounge there and soak up the atmosphere all day long.

Come sail away with me.  Or row.  As the case may be.  In any event, enjoy the fun and carefree feeling of this fantastic family and their nontraditional family portraits.

Another one of my favorites, the family close up.  They are all so beautiful, and were so much fun to work with, even as they eyed the “little” 10 foot boat.  Haha!!

Thank you so much to this fabulous family for being amazing! Loved every minute of the session. And a very special thanks to my friend Jen, who volunteered to help me out, and rode in a truck that badly needs shocks with me while that giant “little” boat was hanging off the bed. And oh thank you so much for not laughing, much, as I desperately tried to shift the truck (it’s a manual) as little as humanely possible. Oh AND for being you, you’re awesome. Just saying. And yes, that was one delicious dinner, must eat there again!

Did you love the boat? Leave me some love or a “like” and let me know. I enjoyed this so much, I’m looking forward to a family requesting it in the near future… HINT, that could be you dear reader! Are you looking for a unique family photography experience? In Key West? Email me! [email protected]

Project 366 – Week 3

January 20, 2012

In this third week, I found that I enjoy the challenge. Taking a photo a day of your life isn’t as easy as you’d think, but it’s also more exciting than I expected. It’s making me stop and enjoy more out of small details in each day. And that alone is worth the journey.

I [...]

Lifestyle Art – Little Beauty on the Beach

January 12, 2012

Key West photography meets children’s whimsy at the beach.  Well these were taken at Veteran’s beach, just before the 7 mile bridge, heading toward Marathon, but I digress.  Imagine with me – lush beautiful photos of your children, gorgeous scenery of the Florida Keys all wrapped up in the perfect photo to hang on your [...]

Project 366 – Week 1

January 6, 2012

I have watched people embark on this missions for ages.  Dedicating themselves to take a photo a day for an entire year.  Seems overwhelming.  Is my life really interesting enough for a photo every single day?  Will anyone actually want to look at these photos besides me?  Well there’s only one way to know.  I [...]
